Recent Photos and an Observation

I’ve been thinking about Ruth Bader Ginsburg a lot lately. She was an amazing woman and a liberal. She served long and well, but I admit to wanting to give her a slap upside the head that she didn’t step down before dying.

She suffered from cancer for years and fought it valiantly, but damn it, at her age, she couldn’t last much longer. Instead of letting Obama replace her with another liberal (hopefully female, but whatever; liberal would have been good enough) while he was still president, she hung in there.

Did she really think McConnell would behave fairly and delay choosing a replacement until after the presidential election? How could she underestimate him so badly after years of watching that asshole connive and maneuver?

Now we are stuck with two extreme right assholes on the most important court in the country. Think about this: if Obama had been able to add Merrick Garland and a replacement for Ginsberg, the left would have been far better served, and this country would be in better shape.

Ginsberg didn’t step down when she should have, and now we have a conservative court that will likely overturn Roe v Wade and marriage equality.

This makes me angry.

What’s that magical house, peeking out from the green? Is that your place?

I wish! No, it’s a neighbor’s house, a couple streets over. I really like it because they planted all that green as a barrier against their neighbors, creating their own little space.
