Still Alive!

Dropping by real quick to let you know I’m fine. I haven’t been sick or traveling, and my laptop’s working well, despite having loaded it with all kinds of things I probably shouldn’t have. Like graphic programs and photos and whatnot.

I’ve been busy with a difficult edit (I didn’t charge the author nearly enough!), and I still have half the manuscript to go. When I work for eight to twelve hours a day, the last thing I want to do is be creative and witty. I’ve been crawling into bed early every night and reading until I can sleep. I even worked through Thanksgiving.

No flash fic this week and maybe nothing next week either. Depends on when I finish this sucker.

I took this photo about a week ago. I like the lighting and that one drop of water hanging from the leaf.

See you when I see you! 🙂

It’s good to hear from you. I know the work needs to be done, but please don’t forget to take care of you. Love the photo. Great timing.

Thanks, but work comes first. And I have another edit coming in on the heels of this one, so I have to push to get it done. Evening reading is helpful, though. It’s relaxing and lets me get out of my head.

But it underscores once again why I can’t write and edit someone else’s work at the same time. I can’t even produce a flash fic when I’m immersed in someone else’s words, and not because I worry about duplicating their style or whatever. I’m simply tired at the end of the day. Burned out.
