Back to the Birds

I have more photos of my favorite blue jay.

I liked the last one so much, I cropped it to show you more detail, especially the eye, which is lit by sunlight.

A cardinal showed up, too. They’re more shy than the other birds, and if I make any sudden moves, they’re gone.

Nice to catch him with a raised crest for a change.

This is a young grackle, complaining about me pointing a camera at him.

A female red-winged blackbird. Normally you’d only hear blackbirds in a marsh or at a pond, but a few of them visit me daily and sing. The males may be flashier, but the females have beautiful patterns, don’t you think?

See you next time.
