More Macros

Still on the macro kick, because I’ve been stuck at home for a while. I’ve seen new insects and others that are familiar to me. I’ll start with the scolid bee. I love how fuzzy they are.

This is the butt of a paper wasp. 🙂 It was drinking water from the birdbath.

The rest are unidentified but no less interesting. Both flies are tiny. I think the second one is a fruit fly. Take a look at its mouth!

A moth sleeping on the lanai screen. No idea what kind, but it was small. Check out the detail on the wing.

A spider’s egg sac. It hasn’t opened yet, and I may not be around when it does, but how cool is this?

Citrus flatid leafhopper. I can’t tell you how many pictures I took of this before I was satisfied. Doesn’t it look soft? The coloring reminds me of a snowy owl.

I believe this is a little leaf notcher weevil, although it could also be a Sri Lanka weevil. I was unable to determine ID for sure.

See you next time.

It’s why I enjoy taking macros. I can see things in a photo I don’t notice with only my eyes. There’s a whole ‘nother world going on around us most never see.
