Sometimes I take long exposures, sometimes I don’t. To get the best result, I should take a picture normally, followed by a long exposure, then combine the sky of one with the silky water of the other. Why? Because clouds move, and during a long exposure, they sometimes end up looking funny. Take a closer look at the clouds in this photo.
The strange thing is that birds or boats photobombing the picture do not show up in a long exposure. Cool, right? Long exposures are a great way to make people disappear from a picture.
I haven’t had a chance to do that kind of cut and paste job yet, but I may give it a try soon. I’ve been working hard lately and haven’t had much opportunity to get out with the camera. But I can always make time for a good sunset.
See you next time.
