Feb 6: Macros

These were taken when the weather was still hot and insects were plentiful. Florida has had a cold fall and winter, and they’re not so easy to find now.

The one thing everyone notices is not around right now? A mosquito!

Orb weavers are a varied lot. They come in all colors and sizes.  Spotted orb weaver.

Another one. I almost missed it. It had spun its web beside the path at Windy Point Park.

Midge, which looks like a mosquito but isn’t. Note the beautiful feathered antennas.
