Fall Color in Florida

Yes! We get fall color, but you have to look close. 🙂

I took these pics in the last few days.  The first one is of a bird perched at the top of a tree down the street from where I live. You see the color, right? To be honest, I didn’t notice until I started processing the photo. Now it’s obvious to me. The bird is a grackle.

The next three pics were taken at R’s “other” property. I visited him there this morning.

This is the tiny island in the middle of his small pond. The fall color is delicate, but it’s there. What amazes me is that the plants are growing in white sand.

Also taken while I was on his property, though the tree I photographed was in his neighbor’s yard. Look at that vibrant red! Believe it or not, I did not saturate at all. It really is that bright.

On the way home, I stopped at a railroad crossing and grabbed this shot. I saw the color, turned around, and went back. Couldn’t pass it up!

Finally, a photo of a gate, hiding off the road behind oveergrown bushes. I glimpsed it as I went past, pulled over and parked, and went back. Beware of Alligators sign is such a Florida thing. 🙂  The touch of fall can be seen in the fallen leaves lining the drive, and the orange and red in the background on the right.

See you next time.
