I returned to my favorite park and got a fabulous photo of the green lynx spider. It was resting on a leaf, enjoying the morning sun. They are SO large and impressive, I can’t take my eyes off them when I see one. These beautiful spiders rarely bite humans, and even if they do, they are non-venomous. You’ll just swell up a bit, and that’s it.
A carpenter ant. This is a photostack of two pics. They have to be identical (no moving legs or antenna), then Photoshop can blend the best parts of them together. I’ve been using this technique a lot lately, to get the best photos I can. The green lynx spider pic above? Photostacked. 🙂 Same with the orb weaver. When you take multiple photos of a subject, sharpness isn’t always global. Photostacking allows you to get as much sharpness as possible when shooting macros, which always have a shallow depth of field.
See you next time.
