Insects

Black and yellow mud dauber. It flew up against the window, and I had to go outside to photograph it.  It must have just exited the cocoon, because its wings were still crumpled.

A couple of days later, a grasshopper paid me a visit. It’s called the obscure bird grasshopper. Weird name, right?

This is a new insect to me. I’ve never seen it before. I was at Windy Point Park and this tiny little thing was on a small flower. I took about twelve shots, but only this one turned out. When taking pics of tiny insects, the eyes have to be sharp and in focus. This is a lesser meadow katydid.

My spiders at home have disappeared, but I saw this orb weaver at the park and got a very nice photo of it.

See you next time.
