The flame vine adds vibrant color to our green landscape in winter and early spring. The flowers are quite large. None of these photos had saturation boosted; this color is straight out of the camera.
They make great cover for fences. This vine grows fast and there has to be a lot of space between the plants.
They also climb into trees, where they glow against our blue skies.
I was at R’s the other evening, at sunset. There were clouds, but the light poked through a hole and lit up the island. The birds sitting at the top are vultures. They gather there every evening.
An as yet unidentified bird in R’s dead orange tree, same sunset. The tree just got old. R has plans to replace it.
The moorhen is around again. He was in the canal, not at R’s. I love that red and yellow beak! It’s so smooth, it almost looks like plastic.
Also in the canal were turtles, sunning themselves on the rocks.
Suki lying on the bed, looking pensive, legs crossed. Had to take this one with the flash.
Have a great weekend!
