I’m a big Zachary Quinto fan, even more so since he came out. Always gracious to fans, talented as hell, and let’s face it–if he’s your type–gorgeous. His grace and openness with people constantly impresses me. No matter how tired or busy he is, he takes time to say hello and give a hug. People traveled from Europe and the British Isles to see him play Louis in Angels in America in the dead of a NYC winter. How many actors engender that kind of loyalty?
This is one of my favorite pics of him. It is nearly always on my desktop because I never tire of it. It was taken by a paparazzi. The loose lines of his body, the cant of his hips, even that ridiculous linen hat… I love it. I blackened the background and ran it through various filters to bring out detail in his T-shirt and jeans. Some areas were burned to make them darker, others were dodged to lighten them. I’m particularly enamored of that cup of coffee he’s holding; I used light effects to make it glow. The only touch of red in the photo, it resonates beautifully.
And then I played with it and came up with this. I like the way he’s walking through the light.
A beautiful subject to play with in Photoshop. 🙂
