More on Kindle PDFs

For those of you with Kindles who are interested in saving Word docs as PDFs and transferring them to the device, you don’t need any intermediary programs. (Last time I posted about this, we were discussing “Send to Kindle.”)

Tonight, I opened a few fan fics in Word, selected all, changed font to calibri and size to 24 (20 or 22 is probably large enough but I wanted to make sure I could read it without changing rotation), and then simply connected the Kindle to the PC and manually dragged the PDFs to it.

That’s it.

I can read these files wonderfully well in normal (default) rotation.

I’m using Windows 7 and Word 2010, which offers the ‘save to PDF’ option. There are free programs online that do the same thing. The point is, it is easy to save Word docs as PDFs and move them to your Kindle. Just remember to size that font up!
