JJ and I were watching QaF again, from the beginning. We were on episode two, but we knew it well overall.
“Michael was a whiner.”
JJ protested. “Everyone said that, but he was only being responsible.”
“Oh, bullshit. There were episodes when he hurt my ears, he whined so much. Loved his mom, though. She was so supportive of him, no matter what he did or said.”
He reached into the popcorn bowl on my lap. “Like your mom.”
I smiled. “Yup.”
We didn’t talk much about his folks. They had not been supportive of him being gay, and he’d left home the instant he graduated from high school. Getting through college had been a struggle for him, taking far longer than if he’d had their financial help.
“Brian is really sexy. Agree?”
JJ nodded. “Absolutely. But insecure as hell.”
“What about Justin?”
“True, but together, they were one hell of a couple.”
“We’re like that,” he said, nuzzling me. “Meant to be.”
I sighed and leaned against him. He really was the best boyfriend I’d yet had. “We can pause this, you know.”
“I think that’s a good idea.” Biting on my ear, he laughed low in his throat.
I thumbed the button on the remote and turned to face him. “Great way to end the weekend.”
“It’s the only way to end a weekend.”
